YCB welcomes alumnus Rick Chang back to Beijing 2014 06 Rick Chang

_My name is Rick Chang and I am happy to report that I am returning to the Beijing Yale Club community. A bit about myself, I was born and bred in Taiyuan, Shanxi province in China, a small northern town known for its vinegar, noodles, coal mines and coal bosses (the equivalent of District 12 in the Hunger Games). I attended Yale College and graduated in 2013 a Sillimander. And after graduation I returned to China to join McKinsey as a consultant (the equivalent of a coal miner from District 12 in the Hunger Games) as well as to grow an education start-up (the equivalent of the Hunger Games battle arena).

Not to be confused with a Hunger Games nerd, I do have real hobbies and pursuits in life. During my years as an active Beijing Yale Club member, one of my addictions was taking Yalies and friends of Yale to my hometown to visit Wutai Mountain (a Buddhism center in China), Wang/Qiao/Chang Family estates, prison-coal mines as well as regaling my friends with Shanxi vinegar, Fen Jiu (a type of Shanxi Baijiu), and a variety of local noodles. Now that I am returning to Beijing, I look forward to resuming all of the above activities and to reconnect with old friends as well as to make new ones. My Wechat ID is changboqian and my email address is rick.chang@aya.yale.edu. Add me and let me know whenever you’d like to share some stories over 串 or Qingdao after work.
